Collection of donated items for charity

In late 2006, ROSL Hong Kong's Charity Fundraising Committee asked for donations from our members of objets d'art, "designer goods" and electrical items to raise money for various charities in Hong Kong.

So far this has proven very successful. We have given several items to the Hong Kong Federation of the Blind, and have donated five Chinese scroll paintings to RICE (Returns in Children and Education), which is providing inter alia, education for kids orphaned by natural disasters in the region, such as in the Asian tsunami on Boxing Day 2004.

These five paintings alone were auctioned for HK$50,000 (GBP 3,000) to an array of hedge fund managers at the M1NT club in Hong Kong at Christmas 2006. It has therefore helped a great number of Asian children, and is something that ROSL Hong Kong members feel very proud of.
