The ROSL runs an international art competition, with entrants from around the World. Mr. Woody Lee, an artist from Hong Kong, won a ROSL Arts Scholarship and here is his photograph, and a text he has sent us.
"I am greatly indebted to ROSL ARTS for giving me the opportunity to spend a wonderful month in Arbroath, which is a wonderful town with a vast seashore and clear blue sky.
In this period, I was able to concentrate on art creation in the undisturbed studio, and to share art works with artists from many other parts of the World. The ancient atmosphere of Hospitalfield House, and the characteristic of historical cities like London and Edinburgh, give me a lot of inspiration which cannot be found in my home town.
Undoubtedly, my residency in Scotland has broadened my vision in contemporary art and also enhanced my understanding of Western culture."
